VectorPad

VectorPad is a very simple program.  It can be used by drawing two electronic ink vectors on the VectorPad drawing area using the pen.   The two vectors should intersect.  Once the vectors are drawn, the user can request that the program perform one of the operations in the button menu and display the result on the screen.  Vector tails are assumed to be at the location where the pen is first placed on the screen  while the vector head (direction arrow) is assumed to be at the end of the vector where the pen is lifted from the screen. Operations that can be performed include:

  • addition
  • subtraction
  • dot product
  • cross product
  • vector projections
Note that the program straightens vectors to run from tail to head. Dimensions are in screen drawing units with results being relative to these units.
