Parameters:
|
Name |
Description |
Unit |
Default |
|
Type |
Four types of
inductors are available. See description below. Depending on the current
carrying requirements & inductance value, choose proper type. |
nil |
ind1 |
|
No.of turns(nturns) |
Enter the required no
of turns. These are square spirals, hence quarter turns only are allowed. |
nil |
2.5 |
|
Inductance(L) |
Inductance value is
calculated from empirical equations. This is not editable |
nH |
1.5 |
|
Rotation |
Rotation parameter
of under pass metal. Choose proper value, depending on the layout
requirements. L value does not change with rotation. |
nil |

b)
Range:
Type1 (ind1), width = 5 um, spacing = 5 um ; nturns = 1 to 6 turns in step of 0.25
Type2 (ind2), width = 10 um, spacing = 5 um ; nturns = 1 to 4 turns in step of 0.25
Type3 (ind3), width = 10 um, spacing = 10 um ; nturns = 1 to 4 turns in step of 0.25
Type4 (ind4), width = 15 um, spacing = 10 um ; nturns = 1 to 4 turns in step of 0.25
3. Equivalent
Circuit:

4. Notes:
a) From EM simulated data, equivalent
circuit parasitic values are estimated. The scaling of parasitic element values
is done for the valid range of no of turns. Then each parasitic element is
curve fitted (typically to 5th order) and then model is net listed.
b) Proper
transmission lines should be used (M1 or M2) for connecting the inductors.
c)
All the inductors are synchronized with
layouts.
5. Model
accuracies:
There can be subtle
difference between EM data and the schematic due to mathematical limitations of
model.
